Regarding fine imposed on the act of printing barcodes on exports without permission

Official letter No. 2417/TCHQ-DTCBL dated April 16th, 2020 of the General Department of Vietnam Customs regarding handling of violations regarding use of barcodes for exported goods

According to opinions of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in case an enterprise prints foreign barcodes on exported goods without the written permission of owners of the foreign barcodes or the license of foreign authorities, the enterprise is considered to commit the regulations on use of barcodes at Clause 2 Article 19b of Decree No. 74/2018/ND-CPstatus2 .

Accordingly, the enterprise shall be sanctioned according to point a Clause 3 Article 32 Decree No. 119/2017/ND-CPstatus2 (a fine raging from VND 10 million – VND 20 million shall be imposed).
